O Oprah! Girls trip to Chicago

May 2009

My good friend Krissy was able to secure us 5 tickets to Oprah, so of course with only a few weeks notice we all made plane reservations to meet in Chicago.

On the first night we were out walking around and I stumbled across this company sign...Virchow is my very uncommon maiden name, so of course when I saw it on a window, it caught my eye!

In Celebration of Oprah, we all brought one of our favorite things to share with each other.  I brought flip flops, Heidi brought us necklaces, Krissy brought us Mac foundation for your eyes (very cool), Michele brought us flip flop hangers, and Becky brought us handy reusable, snap-up shopping bags that we can keep in our purses. FUN FUN FUN.

So for our first day in Chicago we headed to the Harpo Studios for the 11:00 show.  We were VERY excited.  I've always wanted to see Oprah.  We tried to coordinate our colors so we would have a better chance of sitting together and possibly getting good seats...Well, it worked.  We were fed lunch, got amazing seats (front row - and ON TV) AND we were able to sit through 2 tapings!!!  What a treat.  The first taping was titled something like, "Social Class in America" and the second was someting like "Abused Women who have killed their abuser" (yeck!). What a great day!
We took an architectural boat tour of the city on a beautiful sunny day, followed by lunch and shopping.

The tulips were in full bloom during our visit.

Our last day in the city was filled with eating,  walking, shopping, eating some more and enjoying one another before we all left for the airport and back to our families for mothers day (the next day).
