Chandler turns 14!

February 18, 2010
Birthday Boy!  14 years old today...it seems like just yesterday...

Still willing to wear a birthday hat...a good sign.
It was a total lacrosse birthday.  All gifts were lacrosse related.  He better play for many years!

Happy Birthday Chandler. We love you sooooo much! And we are so glad you are a part of our family. You bring laughter, sports, hugs, smiles, a good example, a positive attitude and joy to all that we do. We LOVE our Chandler!

Talent Show 2010

Gabby, Bella, and Hadley Kate Christensen performed "magic" at the Copper Mesa Annual talent show.  The three of them wowed the audience with several tricks leading up to their exciting last trick...the gilletene!
Keely Ruby, Zoe Blandon, McKinnon and Mallory Christensen performed a skit using the Arms elusion.  Two girls are behind the two main characters using their arms and overplaying the situation.  Very funny.  These girls did a great job in the talent show with this unique and very funny act.

Girls DAY

When the boys are out of town, its time to play. Hmmm...what shall we do? Do we need more dishes around the house? Of course we do. So we head to "Arts on Fire" the little local ceramics studio to pick something to paint and fire.  McKinnon always the perfectionist.
Look, Gabby can paint with no hands.
A little bean and cheese burrito always a favorite!
Bella finally settleing down to paint hers after helping eveyone else get started.
A quick group shot before heading out for the Official Girls Night Out Dinner.  We headed over to Chili's (mostly for the yummy Molten Chocolate Cake dessert.  I love my girls..

GENGHIS KHAN comes to Denver 1/2010

Ever since visiting China a few years ago, I  have a curious interest in all things China.  So of course when I read that the Genghis Khan (possibly the greatest military leader of all time) traveling exhibit would be in Denver, we bought tickets and made a day of it.  The exhibit was interesting, but a little boring in parts for the kids due to all the reading, but, we certainly learned a lot and we were yet again grateful for the fact we were not  born in china (then or now) and we can live in Colorado!
Kids posing in from on The man himself.
Showing the hats we crafted in the exhibit...Gabby is ready to go home!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!!

Just after we rang in the new year, we quickly took a group photo showcasing the Masterpiece Hats!
Happy New Year!
Smith Family, Christensen Family, Chatwin Family and the Brown Family
Chandler and his buddies rang in the new year by running around the house banging pots together and/or drumming them with spoons (many woodend spoons were shredded in the process!)
